The Saint Augustine Amphitheatre is a fresh, newer, state of the art Performing Arts and Recreational facility that provides a unique venue in northeast Florida.  It is located a short distance from the town of St. Augustine, which is our Nation’s oldest permanent European settlement.  The original St. Augustine Amphitheatre was built in 1965 to commemorate St. Augustine’s 400th Anniversary.  Major renovations were complete in 2007 converting the Theatre into a multi-use partially covered outdoor Performing Arts Center.

The Saint Augustine Amphitheatre sits on a 16-acre section of Anastasia State Park (see below for more information) that includes an old quarry where coquina rock was obtained to build early St. Augustine, including the oldest remaining European fortification in the Continental United States, Castillo de San Marcus.  There are also nature trails and an elaborate arboretum located on the property.

The capacity for the Saint Augustine Amphitheatre is approximately 4,500.  There are 3,402 fixed stadium seats with 91 Wheelchair/Handicapped seating positions.  They also have a lawn area for grass seating.

The gates to the St. Augustine Amphitheatre usually open 1-½ hours before the show is scheduled to begin.  All events at the theatre are held rain or shine.  They suggest watching the weather and dressing accordingly.  If St. Johns County is under a hurricane watch or warning, all events will be cancelled.

To purchase tickets to an event at the Saint Augustine Amphitheatre and for more information, call 904-471-1965.  You can also buy tickets at the St. Augustine Beach Pier at 904-461-0119.  If the show is not sold out, the Amphitheatre Box Office located in front of the St. Augustine Amphitheatre opens 2 hours before show time on the day of the show only.

There are concession areas for on-site food vendors and they do serve alcoholic beverages at most events. The sale of alcohol will end 30 minutes prior to the end of the show.  No smoking is allowed in the seating areas.  For your convenience in planning your evening, the St. Augustine Amphitheatre is mandated in its lease with the State of Florida to end all events by 10:30 P.M.  The premises and facilities will be closed to the public no later than 11:30 P.M. each night.

Parking for the St. Augustine Amphitheatre is limited to around 400 parking spaces.  They do have some handicap parking available on a first come first served basis.  Off-site parking is available at RB Hunt Elementary School and the Elks Lodge.  They are both located within 1 mile of the Amphitheatre and they suggest walking from there to the venue.  It will be good for you and your environment.  They promise it will take you less than 15 minutes.  Shuttles run continuously from the satellite parking areas and the Saint Augustine Amphitheatre starting 1-½ hours before the show is scheduled to start until 1 hour after the show is scheduled to start.  The shuttles start up again 1 hour before the show is over.

The Saint Augustine Amphitheatre is a great outdoor venue to see world-class entertainment.  The town of St. Augustine is quaint and charming, dripping in early Florida history.  With the first rate accommodations and the many historical attractions, St. Augustine is the perfect Destination for a 1 or 2 night stay.  If you have tickets for a show at the Saint Augustine Amphitheater, come and stay a few nights at a cozy bed & breakfast, beach side inn, luxury hotel, or one of Anastasia State Park’s serene campsites.

Anastasia State Park is located adjacent to the Saint Augustine Amphitheatre grounds and there you can enjoy camping, beachcombing, swimming, fishing, biking, windsurfing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and more.  Anastasia State Park is on Anastasia Island, which has 4 miles of pristine beaches, a tidal salt marsh, and maritime and upland hammock.  The campground is located within walking distance or a short bike ride from the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and the beach.  There are around 200 campsites at Anastasia State Park.  For more information on the campsites and recreation at the park, call 904-461-2033.
