The House of Blues in Orlando books
many types of music for the Music Hall
on any given night of the week. It could be Punk, Rap, Alternative, Folk, Country, Hip-Hop, Heavy Metal, Folk, Espanola, Zydeco, Jazz, and of course, Rhythm & Blues.
Check our Event Calendar frequently because the HOB schedule changes often.
The House of Blues was founded in 1992 by Hard Rock Café founder Isaac Tigrett and his friend Dan Aykroyd. It is a chain of restaurants and Music Halls with live music and Creole inspired cuisine.
The HOB environment celebrates the African American cultural contributions to folk art and blues music. HOB has one of the largest collections of folk art in America displayed on the walls of their restaurants across the country.
In 2006, Live Nation bought the House of Blues. Live Nation is the world’s largest live entertainment company and is publicly traded. (Originally the House of Blues was not a publicly traded company.)
At this time there are House of Blues restaurants in Anaheim, Atlantic City, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Myrtle Beach, New Orleans, Orlando, San Diego, and on Sunset Strip in Los Angles. The HOB restaurants in Anaheim and Orlando are located on Disney property.
The Music Hall at the House of Blues in Orlando holds approximately 2,100 people for a concert. Most of the time it is general admission and standing room only on the main floor. There are 25 seats upstairs on pews overlooking the floor and stage.
The ticket price for these seats are approximately double the GA ticket price. The sound, lighting and production are state-of-the-art.
If you want to feel the music, this is a good venue to go to.
In addition to the Music Hall, there are also 2 other areas where you can hear live music at the HOB. The Front Porch Bar is in front of the restaurant and has live music most nights starting around 5:30pm. The Blues Kitchen, in the main dining room, has live music starting around 10:30pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
The House of Blues is ADA compliant. Please call the Box Office 48 hours in advance to reserve seating for guests in wheelchairs. Disabled parking spaces are available in lots K and L in the Downtown Disney West parking lots.
The restaurant and the Music Hall are non-smoking facilities but have designated smoking areas outside the buildings. For tickets and more information call the Box Office at 407-934-BLUE (2583).
If you want to step into the Backwater Bayou with a lot of “Cajun Voodoo Vibrations”, this is a great place to go.
