The Jacksonville Veterans Arena is a state of the art multi-purpose building in the sports complex area close to downtown Jacksonville.  It is across the street from the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville, adjoining the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, home of the National Football League’s Jacksonville Jaguars.

The internationally acclaimed HOK Sports Facility Group out of Kansas City, Mo was the architect for the project.  They were also the architects for the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium and the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

The Arena is a multi-functional venue and will seat up to 15,000 depending on the event.  It opened in 2003 and the first concert was Elton John in November of 2003.  It is also home to the Jacksonville Sports Hall of Fame and will host some of the 2010 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

The Jacksonville Veterans Arena is owned by the city of Jacksonville and is managed by SMG out of Philadelphia, PA.  SMG is the world’s leading company in managing public assembly facilities.

The arena meets or exceeds all structural and service requirements set by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  Restrooms, ATM machines, counter tops, drinking fountains and phones are accessible to patrons with disabilities.  Wheelchair accessible tickets may be purchased along with 1 companion ticket.  Call 904-630-3900 for more information.  The closest designated disabled parking is located in lot Z on the north side of the building.  Guests in wheelchairs should enter the Arena through the main entrance on A. Philip Randolph Boulevard.  There are 4 passenger elevators servicing the Arena.

44 restrooms are located throughout the venue.  No smoking is allowed anywhere inside the building, but there are 7 designated smoking areas outside on the terraces.  Concession stands are located on all 4 levels of the arena with good access to the counters.  The doors to the arena open 1 hour prior to the start of the event.  There is no re-entering the building once you have left unless you buy a new ticket.

The Box Office is open Monday – Friday 10:00am to 4:00pm.  The hours are subject to change on event days.

For your convenience there are several ATM machines located throughout the arena.  The arena has access to 6,604 on-site parking spaces plus 100 handicap spaces.  The parking is shared with other venues in the area.  Additional parking is available within walking distance.

One of the more engaging ways to get to the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena is by boat along the St. Johns River.  Dock your boat at The Jacksonville Landing, and then have a nice long walk to and from the event.  The Jacksonville Landing is a dining & entertainment area and is well worth checking out when going to a game or show at Jacksonville Memorial Stadium, Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, or the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
