The Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville is located in the sports complex area close to downtown Jacksonville.  It is across the street from Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena and adjoins the same parking lot with Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, home of the National Football League’s Jacksonville Jaguars.

The internationally acclaimed HOK Sport Facility Group out of Kansas City, Mo was the architect for the project.  The intricate brickwork through out the venue is stunning.

The area is drenched in Jacksonville history with the original site for the Gator Bowl next door and the James E. Merrill House and the Old St. Andrews Church (circa 1888) just outside left field’s gate.  The James E. Merrill House and the Old St. Andrews Church are home to the Jacksonville Historical Society.

The stadium is home to the Jacksonville Suns who are a Class AA Affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the annual NCAA Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Baseball Championship.  It opened April 4th, 2003 with approx. 6,000 stadium style seats and the ability to accommodate over 11,000 fans with grass and bleacher seating.  There are 12 luxury skyboxes, 4 skydecks, and 6 concession stands.  And yes, for all you northerners, they do have boiled peanuts.  If you have never had them, you should try them at least once.

A unique feature of the ballpark is the wide concourse circling the playing field. This allows you to be able to take a stroll around the whole field while not having to miss any of the action.

The Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville is owned by the city of Jacksonville and is managed by SMG out of Philadelphia, PA.  SMG is the world’s leading company in managing public assembly facilities.

The stadium meets or exceeds all structural and service requirements set by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Restrooms, ATM machines, counter tops, drinking fountains, & phones are accessible to patrons with disabilities.  Wheelchair accessible tickets may be purchased along with 1 companion ticket.  Call 904-630-3900 for more information.

There are 12 restrooms located through out the venue and there is no smoking in the restrooms or in the seating bowl area.

To purchase tickets for a Jacksonville Suns game call 904-358-2846.  For all other event information call 904-633-6100.

The stadium has access to 6,604 on-site parking spaces along with 100 handicap spaces.  Additional parking is available within walking distance.

One of the more engaging ways to get to a game is by boat along the St. Johns River.  Dock your boat at The Jacksonville Landing, and then have a nice walk to and from the game.  The Jacksonville Landing is a dining & entertainment area and is well worth checking out when going to a game or show at Jacksonville Memorial Stadium, Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, or the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
